Since its inception in 1907, Midland Paper, Packaging + Supplies, formerly Midland Paper Company has sought to provide value to customers through outstanding service, and value to suppliers through exceptional representation of their products. As the company celebrates its centennial anniversary, the mission remains unchanged. In 1983, the company had annual sales of $14 million when Stan Hooker and Frank Morley acquired Midland Paper and initially focused on improving the company’s position in the strong Chicago paper market. In the early 1990’s the company’s acquisition of Northland Paper and Hobart McIntosh began the regional expansion initiative that continues today, including a broadened and more diversified product offering. Midland was a founding member of NetPrint and became a member of Network in 2003
Today the company has revenues in excess of $700 million and has grown to become one of the largest independent paper, packaging, packaging equipment and industrial supply distribution companies in the country with principal distribution facilities in Illinois, Wisconsin, and Minnesota, as well as sales offices, for the Midland-National division, across the country that supports the magazine, catalogue and book publishing segments of its business.
Midland has developed an experienced and dedicated team to lead the company into the future, and the company’s ownership is committed to providing the resources necessary to continue to meet the needs of customers and suppliers over the next 100 years.
