Shaughnessy Kniep Hawe Paper Company began operation more than 100 years ago as the St. Louis Paper Company. In 1928 this company was purchased by group led by Festus W. Shaughnessy, Edward Kniep, Sr., and Zach Hawe and was renamed Shaughnessy Kniep Hawe Paper Company (SKH). Today, SKH is one of the leading independent fine paper distributors in the country, owned entirely by SKH associates. SKH is headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri which includes a 218,000 sq. ft distribution center. The division delivers over 100 million pounds of paper each year to customers in greater Missouri and Illinois. Our first retail paper store was opened in St. Louis in 1984. They now have four stores, three of which are located in the St. Louis area and a fourth in Evansville, Indiana. Operating under the name "Paper and More", these facilities primarily serve small printers with a wide variety of standard sized paper. In addition, we also sell printing supplies such as inks, chemicals and plates. Through an acquisition in 1993, SKH expanded into Indiana with a major sales and distribution center located in Indianapolis. The marketing area for this division includes Indiana and part of Kentucky. They also experienced dramatic growth in Springfield, Missouri which precipitated the 1996 opening of another division serving western Missouri and parts of Kansas and Arkansas.
