Company History

Spicers Paper, of Santa Fe Springs, California, is the hub for the US West Coast distribution network of Spicers Paper Limited. Spicers Paper has other operations in Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, Sacramento, San Diego, Phoenix, Tucson, Las Vegas, Denver and Hawaii.

Spicers Paper Limited is headquartered in Victoria, Australia.

Spicers Paper Limited was established in the United Kingdom, by John Edward Spicer, in 1796.

In 1896, Spicers was established in Australia.

In 1969, Spicers was established in New Zealand.

In 1978, the company consolidated its position in Australia and New Zealand.

Between 1985 and 1991, Spicers acquired seven separate paper distribution and paper marketing companies on the US West Coast.

In 1994, all of the businesses acquired in the western United States were consolidated as one company under the name Spicers Paper Inc.

In 1996, Spicers Paper Limited acquired major paper distribution businesses in Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong.

During 1999, the company opened "greenfield" operations in Denver and Hawaii.
